Mission & Deployment Lead

Technical & Scientific Advisor

Marco leads SALINA’s mission, deployment strategy and external development. His experience spans agricultural systems, policy and regulation, international cooperation and stakeholder engagement across Mediterranean operating environments. Within SALINA, he focuses on partnerships, deployment pathways and translating the technology beyond the laboratory.

Matthew provides scientific and engineering advice to SALINA. He is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering specialising in thermofluids, heat and mass transfer, multiphysics modelling and experimental engineering. Within SALINA, he provides technical direction across the desalination architecture, including evaporation, salt and vapour transport, condensation, heat recovery and experimental validation.

ENGINEERING RESEARCH

Research Contributors

SALINA has benefited from a series of student engineering Masters projects, each addressing a defined part of the desalination system and contributing research, analysis and engineering insight to the continuing development of the technology. We gratefully acknowledge the students below whose work, ideas and technical contributions have helped inform SALINA’s development. We also welcome new collaborations, including researchers, students and universities interested in sharing ideas, contributing to the technology or developing future Masters projects. Please get in touch with us via the Collaborate page.
